“Extrusions and Sprigs”
This 2 day workshop will focus on the use of an extruding pugmill, various hollow dies, a ton of clay, and the making of self-designed sprigs! The first day will be dedicated to working as a team to make hundreds of tubes, tiles, and bricks by extruding a coarse, groggy claybody via a de-airing pugmill. On the first day, class will also sculpt and cast in plaster various sprig molds ranging in size from a thumbnail to as big as a hand.
The second day will focus on assembling the parts and decorating them with the sprigs. Participants should expect to work intuitively with the clay and each other while exploring a new, loose way of working. The claybody used is the same one that Diana uses for all of her exterior projects. Tuition of $195 covers instruction, clay, and a great lunch each day.

The techniques and materials used during the workshops have the flexibility to be fired to any temperature/atmosphere. Tuition of $250 includes instruction, most materials, and lunch each day.
